Machines & Consciousness / Archaeology Anomalies

About the show

Luke Lafitte, J.D., Ph.D., is a trial attorney and American history teacher. In the first half, he discussed the connection between consciousness and the history of machines in America, and how inventors of these machines awakened our imaginations and powers of manifestation. Rather than a fearful sense of machines taking over humanity, he views them as extensions of ourselves, and part of our spiritual development. He differentiated two paradigms that struggle with each other-- the 'mechanical man' and the 'spiritual man.' The mechanical perspective looks at matter as not being alive, and is exemplified by such things as robots and cyborgs. But such a materialistic view conflicts with our humanism, and as long as we maintain our humanity, we don't need to worry about AI getting out of control, he remarked.

The US has a long and storied history regarding machines and technology, yet Lafitte feels that Americans have lost some of their imaginative spark and become caught up in a repetitive mindset. We need to remember our amazing ability to manifest whatever we want, he mused. He also touched on the work of such luminaries as Richard Feynman, Grace Hopper, Philip K. Dick, Nikola Tesla, Elon Musk, and David Bohm and their contributions and ideas surrounding machines and the mind.

In the latter half, researcher and alternative archaeologist Michael Cremo spoke about his latest work exploring anomalies and artifacts that don't fit into conventional timelines. He reported that new evidence has come from a cave in Southern France that showed humans and Neanderthals co-existed together 54,000 years ago, 10,000 years older than previously believed. This is a tiny step in the right direction, he commented. Cremo maintains there is evidence for modern humans going back much, much further with skeletal remains that are 300 million years old. He also reported on an island off the coast of Ireland called Inis More, which has a curious perfectly rectangular-shaped pool carved into the ancient cliff rocks that mainstream geologists claim is a natural formation. Lore has it that those who swim in the pool enter into another dimension.

Ethiopia has been a location for significant archaeological discoveries. Anatomically modern human skeletons found at the Omo Kibish Formation were originally dated to 180,000 to 190,000 years old but scientists recently re-dated them to around 233,000 years ago. Yet, according to Cremo, these remains are hardly the oldest evidence for humans in Africa. Bipedal footprints were found in Tanzania by paleontologist Mary Leakey and her team that were estimated to be 3.7 million years old. "I take it as evidence for humans like us as existing almost four million years ago," he said. Cremo also talked about consciousness and human evolution, and how many ancient cultures believed that humans are spirit souls existing in bodies made of matter, and that our real home is in a higher dimension beyond Earth.
