Scariest Moments

About the show

During Open Lines, George offered a 'scariest moment' hotline. James in San Diego said he was tormented by visitations from a dark entity over the course of two to three months in 1975. He described the entity as human-shaped, wearing a hood and colored with different swirls of black, gray and brown. James remembered asking for God's help, seeing a white light and a beautiful woman who showed him how to keep the entity away.

Steve from Houston told George about the time he was shot in the chest with a 9mm while stopped at a gas station. He claims to have died on the operating table and had an out-of-body experience. Ally in Chicago recalled the frightening morning she woke up to find her body completely entombed in spider webs. Despite being covered by hundreds of spiders, Ally said she found no bites on her.

A trucker named Alan shared details from a terrifying encounter he and a few other company drivers had with an 8-foot tall Sasqautch on a highway between Mammoth Mountain and June Lake. He said the creature seemed interested only in crossing the road as quickly as possible. Alan told George that he does not believe it was a human dressed in a costume.

In the last half-hour, George played a clip from one of his past interviews with biologist and author Rupert Sheldrake. Sheldrake was stabbed in the leg during a recent lecture in Santa Fe (more details) and is currently recovering.

Palmistry

In the first hour, founder and director of the Palmistry Institute, Vernon Mahabal, spoke about the history and practice of palmistry. Mahabal said palmistry has been practiced as long as humans have been on the planet. It is a branch of astrology, he explained, noting that a trained palmist will get the same reading as an astrologer.

According to Mahabal, the hand radiates an individual's psychic energy and its dermatoglyphic patterns provide the "entire schematic of a person's life purpose and spiritual acumen." Mahabal admitted he can determine how long somebody will live by reading their palm, but stressed that a palmist's real duty is to help advance their clients' consciousness in this lifetime and the next.
